Difference B/W Mixture And Compound?
Difference b/w mixture and compound?
Good Day....
Compound - is a combination of two or more elements which are chemically bonded either by ionic bond or covalent bond. The atoms or elements composing the compound have a fixed proportion. The elements or atoms cannot be separated by physical means.
example of compound:
water (H2O) composed of 2 hydrogen and 1 oxygen. Cannot be separated by filtration or evaporation.
Mixture - a combination of two or more substances or compound that are not chemically joined or bonded. Mixture doesnt have a fixed proportion of the substance being mixed. The substances can be separated by physical means.
Example of mixture:
water (H2O) with sand. You can separate water from sand by filtration and evaporation which is a physical means of separating mixtures.
Hope it helps...=)
